Be sure to:
1) Present a thesis:
Here are a few examples from class (try to avoid 'parroting' them)
- I will encourage my natural curiosity in order to experience greater happiness in school.
- As a right-brained learner, I will need to use emotional and spacial concepts to help me overcome my challenges in math and science.
- Channeling my enormous social energies in the right directions would positively transform my feelings about school.
This site has info on creating great thesis statements and essay maps!
3) Write 4 or more body paragraphs, each with a solid topic sentence and details.
This site has great info on topic sentences.
Details can include:
- Definitions of complex ideas
- Quotes from the videos and/or texts you've read in class. I'd aim for at least one quote or paraphrase in each paragraph. In addition, if there are other sources you'd like to use, you can also do so.
- Explaination
- Personal Anecdote
4) Conclusion. This site has a nice intro to the concept!.
Happy Writing!
